Birth plan - instructions for AJ

 first if we get contractions and we're not sure,  we will go to the hospital parking lot and wait till we're sure

food and pee

second make sure I drink enough water, pee and have something to eat before they put in meds and don't allow me to eat or pee.

they will check for dilation 5 to 10cm and contractions.

If not in active labor - want to go home

IV - what's going inside the IV - 

they will put me on IV - please remind them to inform you if any pain killing meds will be passed through the IV option to drink clear liquids instead

want to walk around for sometime. 

Here are few meds and procedures they will consider before baby is out, and here is my choice about each of these options. Please make sure you stand up to these and if they insist please make sure the justification indicates there is sure risk for baby or me, otherwise these choices hold good

Pain relief

C section - NO - avoid unless absolutely neccessary. epidural used with c-section - NO

Inducing - NO

Spinal epidural - MAYBE make sure they are focused and I'm relaxed if we choose to do this. there are some big risks here if done when I move. Also make sure the test dose is small. make sure I've had some time to walk before we get to this.

alternate to above - laughing gas - YES if epdiural is not used or is not effective

Opioid - NO since it makes both baby and me drowsy

pudental block - YES

Episiotomy - NO - tell them I am okay with natural tear of vagina but not surgical cut 

When baby is out - careful with forceps / vaccum

Position

Tool for position

Pain management - massage

Clamping after atleast 2 mins.

Cord blood donation / storage after this.

Skin to skin contact first

NO bathing , only wiping - no soap

Careful while swaddling baby

Breastfeeding - we can decide if we want a lactation consultant later.

Rest at hospital stay for few days - OK if recommended

Ask for samples for baby use

Who is allowed : You, preferably lady family friends or cousins. Dheeru - maybe

Don't mind shared room for stay

baby always near you or me -

no circumsicion.

Level 0 to where?

So I made a list of what I want to study on Sep 13 and a list of chores and other things I want to try earlier. Here are my updates from today : 25th.  I know there's a lot of things I want to do - mommy stuff, study stuff, home maker stuff, fun stuff, fin stuff.
